When I heard that D.Gray-man was being adaptated into an anime, I wondered who would be Lenalee's seiyuu (voice actress). I imagined that she would have a soft and gentle voice, a little mature and obviously not high-pitched because she's not the type of genki girl. After the seiyuu list has been confirmed, I found out that Itou Shizuka is the lady who will voice Lenalee. Apparently, she is also the seiyuu of Kunogi Himawari from xxxHolic. I've watched the series, and I thought Himawari looked quite similar to Lenalee... pigtails, black hair and all. XD It wasn't too hard to imagine Lenalee speaking in her voice. I was happy when I finally got to watch D.Gray-man—Lenalee's voice wasn't too far from what I had expected! :D

Shizuka Itou was born on December 5th, 1980 in Tokyo) is a Japanese seiyuu and singer. She is also known by her nickname Shizu-sama and is currently being represented by Ken Production. She and a fellow seiyuu Hitomi Nabatame formed a seiyuu unit known by their affectionate name Hitoshizuku, which is Japanese for "a single droplet".
