Romance
Lenalee might be one of the idols in the Black Order, but she doesn't have a boyfriend. How come? Well, the answer is quite clear and simple. Who, anyway, would love to put their lives in danger when you know there's an overprotective big brother who also makes strange inventions behind her? More like, is it even possible that Lenalee has a boyfriend? Now let's see what Komui does when he thinks his sister's dating someone. This is happening in the novel, Reverse 2.
Once upon a time, a group of members of the Order decides to publish a magazine. They have a rubric to introduce the members of the Order. In their first edition, Lenalee is chosen to be the featured member. They had an interview with her.
Q: Lenalee-san is now the age of love. What kind of man do you like?
A: Um. I'm really into making sweet things right now, so I would like a person who would like sweet things and eat a lot for me.
Q: What else?
A: A serious person, taking their mission seriously and get it done. Doing everything done as it should be is a very nice person who I can respect greatly.
Q: In other words, is there a type who you say 'no' to?
A: Not really. If I like a person, I would like to respect every part of that person.
Q: Is a gambling person okay?
A: I think a person who does it for fun is alright. Actually, a person who's stong at poker would be very amazing.
Q: In this kyoudan, is there are man who you particularly like?
A: ......
(Judging by the looks of Lenalee who flushed deeply and became silent, we believe she does have someone she likes!)Thank you very much. This is the end of Lenalee-san's interview session.
After reading the interview, Komui was very shocked. He throws out a party at the Black Order with a hidden motive—to find Lenalee's boyfriend! He makes a games session in the party, and prepares a "prize" for the winner. Each of the games are related with the interview: eating competition, survival game, and a Poker gamee.
Allen Walker anticipates the game because he needs money to pay his master's debts. He is very happy when he finally beats the other competitors, but Komui only congratulates him and offers him a chair. Confused, Allen sits on that chair, only to find his arms and legs tied to the seat. Komui then tells the truth behind the "party", and he prepares a drill to finish off the suspect of Lenalee's love interest. Everyone is surprised, but neither Allen nor Lenalee can do anything. The party ends with the furious members who have lost in the games preparing to take a revenge on Komui, and Allen joins in after the science section members freed him.
and the man is...?
The het couples that get favoured by the fans the most are the ones that have something to do with Lenalee. They usually pair her up with any of the three young exorcists: Allen Walker, Yu Kanda, and Lavi. People also call the four of them as OT4 of the series.
But are you not interested in who is it that Lenalee actually likes? Well, let's review Lenalee's answers on that interview one by one.
"I would like a person who would like sweet things and eat a lot for me."
A guy who eats a lot is obviously Allen, who is an exorcist with Parasitic type. There might be Lavi, too, but Allen has bigger chance in this category. Kanda is out of this because soba might be the only thing he likes, and he dislikes a lot of things.
"A serious person, taking their mission seriously and get it done. Doing everything done as it should be is a very nice person who I can respect greatly."
This applies to almost everyone, I guess. Kanda is serious, but he tends to do all the mission by himself and he has a bad temper. I believe he has a good side though. Lavi is serious. Sometimes it looks like he plays around, but his whole recording matter is serious business. Allen is... serious and nice. I don't think I need to explain about him any further.
"If I like a person, I would like to respect every part of that person."
I think this is also an implication that she doesn't mind if the person she likes was handicapped, cursed, or even evil. So I guess this also applies to almost everyone. Kanda is cursed. Lavi is a bookman, who only needs to memorize the battle and has no need for such thing as "emotion". As for Allen, he is cursed (white hair, and the eyes that can detect Akuma) and is like a human-shaped weapon (because he wields a Parasitic type) and has deformity in his left arm. What's more, he is the fourteenth
"I think a person who gambles for fun is alright. Actually, a person who's stong at poker would be very amazing."
Kanda is out of this. Lavi is quite good, but Allen wins nevertheless. Okay, so Allen doesn't do it for fun since he had to pay for his master's debts; but I believe we all know that he's the strongest at poker.
conclusion
Now, to sum up the analysis of her interview above, here's a table with the boys' scores and probability. Each boy are given up to 4 points for every question Lenalee was asked to and answered, depending on how much Lenalee's description fits their character.
| Name | Points | Probability (%) |
|||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | ||
| Allen Walker | +4 | +4 | +4 | +4 | 99 |
| Yu Kanda | +1 | +3 | +4 | +0 | 50 |
| Lavi | +3 | +3 | +4 | +3 | 81 |
For Allen, I don't have the courage to say it's 100% because, remember, all of this is just MY own assumptions, based on Lenalee's clues. But apparently, it seems that I am not the only one who thought this way. If so, then why would Komui have a suspicion on Allen and tried to "execute" him?
When Komui was about to "execute" Allen in that novel chapter, Lenalee's defense is "I don't have a boyfriend!", but she was not stating whether or not she likes Allen.
So, the real conclusion of this section: as long as Komui doesn't get over her sister-con, Lenalee will never have a boyfriend. :D
